Have recently given the one 4 me a slightly festive overhaul, nothing tacky or in your face, tried to keep it simple and to the point, it is a dating site after all and the festiveness doesn’t really matter at the end of the day. I guess I had too much time on my hand that day… go check it out, remember, there’s a few weeks till Christmas, plenty of time to find some festive flirty fun online…

Ben Hennessy – Back in Team MPPIX

Good news, I am back in the Team MPPIX fold… after a few years with MPPIX, then a few years away, I am once again back and with new role and responsibilities. I’ll still be going to rallies taking photos but I’m also now responsible for the brand new website and keeping it update and sparkly clean. Mark now refers to me not only as a lazy shite, but also as the web monkey which is nice.

The site, like this one, is based around a Wordpress site but with a few more static pages as well. Mark has all the galleries hosted separately which makes things a lot easier.

Anyway, the new site is up now which you can find if you click here and my first proper event with MPPIX will be the Grizedale stages on the 5th Decemeber – watch this space for MPPIX news as well as some shots from the event.

Rally GB 09

Well that time of year has been and gone, sadly. Only another year to wait till the next one though…

As usual I went for the whole event, got wet, cold, muddy but loved every moment of it. This year I hired a few new lenses to try out and it was a mighty steep learning curve, the weather was appalling on day one – rain and fog and with a lens I have never used before this made it even trickier, I persisted though and got there in the end. It also showed me how poor my camera is and I will be buying a new one soon into the new year.

Anyway, enough chit-chat – here are a few photos!

Glowing Bright – new imagery for bh design

One of my ideas for the new bh design site was to incorporate a standard household object into the main design. I originally had a spray bottle of cleaning solution and did a pastiche type affair, but it didn’t quite work as well as I hoped so the idea of a light bulb came up and here is one of a few – they all have different quotes. The site is so new still, but eventually there will be lots of different themes flashing up randomly on the home page.

Here is number one though!

New logo for bh design

Well, it must be a time for change, or something in the water. Since moving to Kintbury, I have designed 3 new logos for bh design, completed 2 redesigns and lost the will. I have also completely redesigned my dating site and taken on 2 redesigns for 2 of my best customers. Is it madness, or is it something in the water? Soph does say the water smells funny…

Anyway, bh design now has a glorious new logo, which I have affectionately called the splodge. It came about by accident really whilst redesigning the one 4 me, I was playing with splodges (there are lots in the design) and I just had an idea to put my current logo type in one and bobs your uncle and all that. We have the new logo as seen below. It was a big decision to redesign it, I was more than happy still with the one designed by a friend of mine a few years ago but I felt like a change, I wanted to push my company into a new direction and felt I needed to do something with it.

Here it is anyway, I would invite you to comment, but you can’t as I have comments turnd off, damn those spam bastards.

I hate spamming ******* so I make it as hard as I can for them but in doing that, it seems to make it hard for normal people to leave comments so I might make it a bit easier and monitor the spam that comes through!

Comments are now easier, not that it will necessarily make a lot of different, I get a lot of visitors but not so many comments. ah well, it serves its search engine purpose…

New identity for the one 4 me – my online dating site

As you’ll see from my earlier post, I decided to create a whole new look for my year old dating site. I think it is important to keep websites looking fresh well kept and with this, I redesigned the logo.

I have gone for something a lot more organic and free compared to the older more constrained logo. I wanted something that was more modern and funky and something that would fit in with current design trends. I wanted the identity to feel young and fun, rather than a bit too serious like the old one may have done…

I think it helps the overall brand and with more sites due to launch soon, it sees the growth of the bh design operated online dating experiences.

I decided to take the plunge recently and redesign my online dating site, there must be something in the water where I live as I have now redesigned my own website and identity and now the dating site. I think it was a wise move though and I am much happier with it and think it is more in keeping with current design trends. Just got to hope that the fine single people of England like it!

I’ve moved!

That’s right, I have moved and finally I’ve got round to updating this blog. I really need to remember about it, I am useless. Well anyway, myself and Sophie have moved in together and we are living in a really nice village in Berkshire, not far from the Oxfordshire border. It’s a really nice little house and I will upload some photos when I take some.

I will also think about updating this regularly again, but not now, too busy at the moment.
